Growing up in Sacramento, California, I moved to Colorado in 2016 following an early career in media.

I attended high school from 2010 to 2014 at El Camino Fundamental High School in Sacramento, California. I was fortunate enough to attend a high school with a polytechnic institute program built-in. Among students that were learning metal working, auto repair, AutoCAD, and more, I was involved in the radio and television portion of the program. The school has a real radio station that broadcasts throughout the Sacramento area, and the DJs are students. We were taught how to soundproof a booth, use proper microphone etiquette, record PSAs in alignment with FCC standards, answer phone calls on-air, and use transitions on a sound board such as fades as well as record and edit audio in Audacity.

The TV portion of the program gave me my first comprehensive history of radio and television. The hands-on portion of the class required students to read the morning announcements live in a mock-news set built in our classroom. We wore blazers at a desk and were taught to not only read and perform on camera, but students worked the cameras as well. We were taught the technical skills required to run cameras on tripods that were taller than most of us, and to switch cameras on perfect cue. A student was also in charge of sound cues, editing, and archiving the footage.

After high school, I attended American River College where I received a certificate in Film and Media. I took courses that taught me the history of film, editing and sound recording skills, screenwriting, voice, diction, and dialects, and some light acting.

Later Schooling

After moving to Colorado, I attended Red Rocks Community College where I received my Associate of Arts in Psychology. I worked full time while obtaining this degree.

As I moved through the ranks of middle-management at my theater, I had a lot of fun, and learned a lot of invaluable skills. Cash handling and management, inventory management, customer service, filing various reports, food handling, fire code, bartending and licensing, training, start-to-finish hiring, counselings and terminations, communications with high-level members of corporate and members of HR, small building and equipment repairs, show schedule and employee schedule, maintenance and troubleshooting of projectors and sound towers, crowd control, self-audits, and more.

I briefly attended Metropolitan State University of Denver to obtain my Bachelors of Science in Psychology before voluntarily withdrawing to focus on my blossoming career in HR.

Early Career

I began my career at Regal Cinemas in July of 2016, and spent 6 years growing and learning there until my departure in July of 2022.

When I first started at the Denver Pavilions theater, I had not had much job experience. I started as floor staff, mostly working in the box office and concession stand. My talents were quickly noticed, as I was encouraged by management to apply for an open part-time associate manager position after only 7 months at the job. This launched me into the world of people management.

On this journey, I discovered my passion for recruiting. I love performing interviews and putting people at ease. My strengths lie in my communication skills and personable approach to candidates. When I found it was my time to leave the movie theater industry, at the rank of Deputy General Manager, I knew that I wanted to go into HR Recruiting.

HR Recruiting Coordinator at

Namaste Solar (2022-Present)

I am responsible for the hiring of all non-people manager roles at Namaste Solar. This mostly consists of solar electricians and apprentices but can extend out to various other field and office-based roles. This role has opened me up to the world of solar and a greater understanding of the trades.

My scope of work is large, and always growing as I implement new ideas all the time. I am the person in charge of our entire orientation process, and I have been been actively working to improve our processes in various ways. Speaking to managers about their experience presenting at orientation, creating uniformity among sessions, plugging new presentations in, and recently implementing a new digital onboarding software that I pitched to our IT Steering Committee that will allow new employees to complete paperwork at home on a mobile-friendly and translatable platform.

I created a brand new HR SharePoint website from scratch for my team to replace the outdated one that was in use. A member of our IT team met with me for an hour to give me an overview of SharePoint, MS Forms, and Power Automate and I took it from there. Not only is the website now functional, beautiful, and used daily by many members of the company, but I was able to automate forms that previously had to be done manually. Certain forms are automatically calculating percentages and pinging managers on Teams to approve processes before sending confirmation to HR.

I am frequently involved in community events and school presentations. I have presented at a couple of high schools in the area, and more recently middle schools and elementary schools. I enjoy working with kids and it’s always an honor to be involved in their learning experience.

I am comfortable presenting in front of groups of any size and demographic and do not get tired of talking to people. I am frequently at networking events and job fairs speaking to candidates and curious passerby about Namaste Solar and the good we do for the community.

I am a member of several ERGs within my company. The QWEENS ERG encompasses all who fall on the LGBTQ+ spectrum, JEDI Circle is a group centered around Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion and insuring that these pillars are being upheld within the company, and the education committee is focused on outreach and education efforts in schools. I am also a candidate for co-ownership of the company.

Outside of Namaste Solar, I am a corporate advisory member for the Women in Leadership program at UCCS and a board member at the Namaste Solar Foundation, which is a nonprofit that allocates funds to other nonprofits.

I have various other responsibilities within the company as well including the ordering of company-wide workwear, turnover reporting, facilitating of employee 6-month and annual reviews, and the handling of various HR related issues.
